These television stations are the homes of high school and University of Hawaii sports. Most people don't know what happens behind the scenes. They don't know what goes into making some of their favorite sports events come on television. My career is the television business and more specifically the news and sports side of television (ill talk about my news career next week.) I am a technical director. I run the switcher which is similar to a live editor. I "edit" together different aspects of the show including different camera angles, digital effects, per-recorded material, and graphics. You may never see me if you visit a live event but I am always there.
I love the fact that I get paid to watch my favorite events and I hope to one day work for some of the biggest names in sports. If you've watched a local sports broadcast recently I would love to know what you think about our programming. Until next week folks!
