This week I had the honor and privilege to watch some great baseball and basketball games.
On Thursday (3/1) was the UH mens basketball team going up against Idaho. That game to say the least was bad.
Friday (3/2) is when things started to get interesting. I worked my very first UH baseball game. I do not watch baseball, I know the basics but not like I know football. This was a big challenge for me because I did not know what to expect in baseball. I realized that once you 'switch' a baseball game, you can 'switch' any sport that's out there. Baseball is a fast and slow game at the same time. If your not attentive things can happen in a split second and that could make all the difference in whether your get called for another job or not. UH was able to win the match 2-1 with the game being decided by Freshman Kaeo Aliviado's solo HR in the 6th inning. It was a great game, even for a person who doesn't like watching baseball
Saturday (3/3) was a very special night for the UH mens basketball team. It was senior night and also it was the very last WAC basketball game that would ever be played in the Stan Sheriff Center. For two players it would also be the last time that they ever suited up in a UH mens basketball jersey as a player. It was a little scary in the beginning because Utah State lead for a significant amount of time. UH came back and took the lead but then lost it with 7 secs to go. It was a disappointing loss but still a great game. The best part about the night was the senior goodbye. At the end of the game they would call the names of the 2 seniors leaving the basketball program and each would get to take their last shot at the hoop all to bruddah iz's 'what a wonderful world'. It was a great ending to a not so great night. I wish the two seniors the best in their future endeavors and in life as well.
Sounds like your living the life!
