This past week Sunday (3/25) on KITV 4 this morning we said goodbye to a great reporter and a great friend. Jodi Leong who has been in the news for years had decided that it was time for her to move on to a career that can give her regular hours and a normal life. I feel like I can call her a friend because ever since the KITV 4 morning show weekend edition was created it was a "our crew" that molded the show to what we felt audiences would like to watch on weekend news (if they were up.) The great thing about our weekend show is that there is no local competition we have to worry about and our ratings have gone up ever since we started the show about a year an a half ago. Jodi has played a big part of the show because without the talent there would be no show at all.
On her last day we were able to get past footage of Jodi and her time on air and able to get some of the crew to tell her goodbye on tape that we played on air. It was a sad yet happy occasion as we all got to say goodbye and good luck to our dear friend. She will now be taking over as school of communications director for all campuses in the University of Hawaii system.
I would like to wish the best to my friend and tell her that we'll miss her and there will never be another like her in the business.
